Biography
With a Master's Degree in Music production and through combinations of different genres and sounds Terje's compositions brings new perspectives to the world of music. His music is emotionally engaging and each song is like a journey through another world where you'll experience a range of different emotions. Emotions is the focal-point of Terje's music. It seeks to embrace you through his' extensive knowledge of composition and music production. It's hard to put his work into one specific genre as his' compositions takes inspiration from everything between classical and jazz to hip-hop, funk, fusion and experimental music. It's been described by listeners as cinematic, since it can evoke vivid images and stories, making Terje a true musical story-teller.
Born in 1992 the Stockholm-based Music Producer and Composer Terje Lundén began his' musical journey by playing guitar at the age of 9, taking private lessons in acoustic guitar and mainly focusing on playing classical music and flamenco.
After a couple of years he became interested in the electric guitar and started playing in rockbands. This eventually lead to Terje attending Rytmus gymnasium (high school) in Stockholm for one year, where he became more and more interested in fusion and experimental rock music.
As his interest and his will to constantly develop his abilities grew he segwayed through fusion into jazz and went on to study Big Band music at Kulturama gymnasium (high school) for three years. As well as playing in the school Big Band and smaller ensembles he also started his own trio ensemble with which he performed at several jazz clubs in Stockholm.
Continuing on the path of Jazz, Terje went on to study at the prestigious Skurups folkhögskola (In between high school and college) in southern Sweden for two years. Other than playing guitar, saxophone and piano on a daily basis, this is where Terje's interest in composing music started to emerge for real.
Seeking further development in his' ability to play and compose music he studied at The Royal College of Music (KMH) in Stockholm were he got his bachelor's degree in Jazz guitar. He also attended courses in classical composition (including 20th century counterpoint and string arranging) and music production.
Alongside his studies at KMH he played guitar in the band TROMB for three years. Experimenting with different musical effects, textures and playstyles on the guitar inspired Terje to seek out further knowledge of music production which eventually lead to his Master's Degree in Music Production at the Royal College of Music (KMH) in Stockholm.
He has since been working as a freelance Music Producer, Composer, Arranger and Mix Engineer with a variety of projects ranging from cross-disciplinary collaborations with artists in other fields to producing music for Sony Music Entertainment.
